Glass-prostheses

Glass eye prostheses are made from a special type of glass: Cryolith glass is clouded with cryolith (Na3AlF6).

Glass displays a very smooth surface and facilitates good wettability through tear fluid. Unfortunately, glass prostheses are breakable and careful handling is needed.

Glass prostheses can be manufactured in one consultation/session.

Glass eye prostheses should be renewed/replaced after a year. Every replacement calls for a new inspection. We suggest you visit our appointments personally.
